Default alarm question..

Hi guys,

was thinking about getting alarm installed, but then remembered i've got the keypad in glovebox compartment. My question is, if i get in touch with subaru, will they be able to give me code for it, and as i dont have the fobs, how do i go around it? Can i get them from subaru or any other ones and get them to work?

thanks

Subaru may be able to get hold of the original code, but if it has changed since then, it won't be of any use.

You could buy a new alarm module, with a matched fob. I saw a few on ebay around the fifty quid mark yesterday. But I'd imagine its a bit of a job getting to the alarm unit.

What did they say they are going to do? Based on what previous people have said on here, your looking at a few hundred quid.
As far as I'm aware, if they don't know the PIN and you don't have a fob, its a new alarm unit.

As i phoned them up, they confirmed they can give me the code (if it hasnt been changed), but can't do it over the phone in case i've stolen the car, so need to bring proof i own it. New fob will be £40ish and configuration of fob+alarm another £40. if they won't be able to provide the pin, i won't bother getting new unit from them and just go with new alarm system.
