Default Version 4 inlet manifold onto version 1 possible?

Hi guys, is it possible to put a 97 version 4 inlet manifold with the 1 coil onto a 93 version 1 wrx?

What do i need to change? Loom? Turbo?

Is there by any chance a how to guide

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The manifolds from MY93-96 (v.1-4) all have the same bolt hole pattern, so yes, the IM's are interchangeable.

You can do either/or as regards the coil side of things

But not sure on the best way to go about doing the wiring for the MY97/98 single coilpack etc. conversion route - someone will surely post up soon...

It is possible and I run a version 3 inlet manifold on my version 2. I used the version 3 manifold with the version 2 throttle body and idle control valve and the version 2 loom. To use the version 2 throttle body you need some modifications to run the throttle body upside down and that requires a spacer between the inlet manifold and throttle body and a new mounting point for the throttle cable.

Why are you considering changing the inlet manifold?

The 97 wrx i have has turbo blown and my 93 wrx is only boosting at .4 and is throwing codes 44,45,24 up, so rather than going buying sensors and what not i thought i could just do the inlet manifold swap over

I see, that's a lot of hassle for that and it's easier to stick with the version 1 & 2 inlet. I had to change mine due to a large front entry turbo

What size spacer is needed between throttle body and manifold?
