Default Temperature really high!?

Hi, over the last few days I've been noticing that my 2003 wrx fans have been cutting in really early. And today soon as the temp gauge hit normal 1/4. Seconds later it's was on the max temp! Why is my car getting so hot?

Thanks Jamie

You checked the water level? If it's OK, remove and test the thermostat.

Make sure you refill slowly, do a search on here for the best method, don't just pour coolant in and hope for the best, there is NO way to bleed a Scoob system once it's airlocked, you have to drain and refill.
Also get a sniff test done, what you describe is a symptom of headgasket failure.

Okay mate hope it's not a head gasket! How much are they to fix? I'll just take to the garage
