Question Front brake judder

hi iv got a wr1 and im suffering from front brake judder ever since i bought it.

i assumed it would be warpped disks, but iv had them reskimmed and still no better! i put new pads in when i had them skimmed.

what else could it be? and which is it most likely to be? ball joint seems fine, could it be bent hub?

all help appreciated!

thanks

Have you checked the wheels are not buckled slightly, possibly on the inner rim? When you load the wheel under braking sometimes shows up a buckled rim more easily. Might be worth getting them balanced anyway.

Is the judder exactly related to wheel speed i.e. once per revolution? Although you have had the disks skimmed it would also be worth double checking that all your pistons etc move freely in the caliper and nothings is untoward there as a small disk runout with sticky calipers may be felt.

Otherwise it could be anything from poor wheelbearing to play in any of the ball joints and suspension!

u can feel the judder all the way until u stop dead! if your doing 2mph and just touch the brake, you can feel the car rock to a stop.

Which pads are you using? I've heard some pads can cause judder. Can you feel it in the steering wheel?

I had the same but it was my front disks needed skimming. If the feeling is in the car and not the steering wheel - rear disks?

Might be a jammed piston - have you clamped off one wheel to see if it continues on the other? (and then swapped over?)

it had some high comp pads on and it juddered, so i got sum mintex and it still does it so i assume it wont be a pad or disk issue.

the pistons seemed to move freely when we changed the pads

Annoying is not the word!

Like knotty said, try disconnecting one caliper at a time (remove the flexi & blank it off with mole grips). That will identify which corner it is for a start.
