Default Opinions on the Japspeed FMIC

Further to my previous thread re- intercoolers, I'd like to ask peoples opinions of the FMIC available from Japspeed.
They seem to have re-opened the group buy on this product and whilst it looks ok, it would be good to get the nod, or otherwise, from anyone with experience?
I intend to couple this with something like a SC42 Billet Currently MD321H and all supporting mods.)

Thanks JohnD

I struggled to find any feedback on these before I fitted mine last week, however after speaking to Simon JGM who has mapped a few cars with them, Simon said he had no issues with the cars and they do the job just fine, was enough to convince me to buy one!

Mine never came from japspeed it came from ebay but was identical to the japspeed kit, which to be fair most are. I guess japspeed buy them from the same place and put there name to it.

No issues with mine and probably the best kit ive ever fitted to an Impreza.

I've got one on the blob.

Same quality as the Autobahn88 kit - no complaints apart from the routing of the pipework means you have to run a non-standard expansion bottle for the rad (it's included, so no biggie). The pipework on e.g. the autobahn kit was better from that respect IMO, but really it makes no difference to power etc I think.

I've been running one for a couple of years now and no issues whatsoever. Pipes could fit better but if you want perfect pay 5-times the price and buy APS, Perrin or Hyperflow

Sounding quite positive so far. Will wait a while for any more comment as the buy is on till end of week.
Would need to get an adapter for the standard dump valve, though!

You would, or just blank it off

I'm using this one when I fit the VF but running without on the TD04

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...ht_1267wt_1165

You'll also need an induction kit as the OE airbox doesn't fit

All Good here too. The core on my hatch is enormous and does the job superbly.

Ive just blanked my BOV off on the VF48, sounds wicked

Are these bar and plate or tube and fin? Anyone tested for pressure drop figures?

Bar and plate, I do believe. Can't recall which is considered best!

But you'll pay for that, and the Japspeed kits are fine for what I'm after power-wise,in fact probably a bit overkill

We are running this FMIC,we are happy with this, but when we will go above 500bhp,think this FMIC will be not the best

Under 500bhp will be OK,but above that i would go with the Hybrid core which is used mostly

Yes, currently using a Hyperflow CAI so this will need to be replaced or cut to bring the filter into the engine bay.

I reckon with a bit of ingenuity you could make it fit

Hybrid GT2 on mine, works like a charm, no lag, and inlet temperatures are well below intake.

Did you find it fouled somewhere? eg Inner wing?

What air filters are people using?
