Hi, can anyone enlighten me as to how to test if a clutch is on it's way out. I've heard about the 'pulling away in 3rd should stall' check. Can anyone tell me why this is so? Is this applicable to all cars?

Take the car to about 3000rpm. Floor it and hold the car from accelerating on the brake. This'll highlight a dodgy clutch.
