Default water pump - how easy?

1993 wrx - I've had a look under the car and water seems to be coming from around the coolant pipe that goes from the water pump to the oil cooler, it's difficult to see up any further but i believe its possible coming from the water pump - how easy are they to change? also how are they drive as pictures i've looked at seems to suggest they are not driven of the belt?

I'm quite mechanically minded so something i will do myself, this is my first experience of these type of engines so trying to find my way around them and understand how they are laid out.

Cheers for any advice

in EJ20 they are driven from the belt, so the crank pulley, front timing belt covers and timing belt itself has to be removed.
as in pic below (the blue coloured thingy is a water pump)

Not a hard job but may as well change the cambelt while your doing it.
Requires the cooling system to be drained too as the water will all fall out.
Possibly not a diy job if your not confident.

Ok thanks, need to fill with water and run it to see if it is the pump or a pipe but from the brown colour stain i can see underneath it looks like it is up further than the pipe but then maybe thats it spraying out from the pipe.

I'm confident enough to do it myself, I have stripped and rebuilt many engines just not one of these.
