Default Remote turbo

ok so i've got a 2.0 sport that doesn't get used but theres no point selling for little return.

The engine is solid as is the drivetrain, i'm looking at possibly making my own remote turbo system for it using second hand parts where I can.

note this is would just be a project for a bit of fun!!! I do realise that these systems are generally used on cars with larger displacement due to the associated lag with a remote system. Was thinking rear mount in place of the rear silencer, I don't want to change anything internally in the engine.

So my question is would it be a completely stupid idea? and warrant no benefit or so little that it would be pointless?

I'm unsure as to whether the internals would be ok, even though it would have to be of very low boost. would the engine simply just die on me?!

my apologies up front if this is a ridiculous idea!!
