Default R.C.M Induction kit.

Just fitted a RCM induction kit and i have a question. Is it supposed to sound like a Dump valve? When i lift off ? Not really a fan of dump valves but could live with it if its supposed to sound like that.

I currently use a Hyperflow cold air induction and with the filter hidden down in the inner wing it's still very noticable. Like you, I'm not a fan of the VTA sound (think it's an age thing?) but it's not too loud and you get used to it!

Any aftermarket induction makes that noise when you start removing the fender and snorkus. The sound is likely to be the recirculating DV, should be more of "chhh" sound than a "whoooosh" chav valve sound anyway! I suppose it would vary on the amount of boost and DV used. If you are completely DV less then you would hear the Turbo Chatter aka "Stall" much louder with an aftermarket intake

I'd also drive off boost until it's checked.

She'd be more annoyed if you had to put an engine rebuild on that credit card! Check map asap

I can clearly hear my recirculating dumpvalve through the induction kit.

And yes, map tweak is needed

Recirculating DV with RCM induction and K&N filter. Running maffless, AF20g etc.
