Default Driver's side cam cover gaskets.

Once my back gets a bit better, I'll be having a go at this, plus fitting breather pipes to the cam covers and the crankcase.

So.........do I attempt the gaskets from ABOVE, or BELOW?

I'm NOT a big bloke, so will find it hard trying to reach down to it.......
Whereas I CAN jack it well off the ground, and set it down on either axle stands or ramps.

Anyone done it?

Done a few rocker cover gaskets.

Always done from the top.

Removed the air box for accessibility. then removed coils packs or leads depending on age of car.
Then its just the 10mm bolts

Probably 95% of the work will be done for the top but a couple of bolts are probably easier to get to from underneath

Hijack sorry.

Do you guys replace all of the bolt seals and plug seals as well and do you use sealant?

Thanks

I refitted mine with the old gasket & washers (was only a small leak) - just use good quality silicone sealer if doing this.

Also, there are 2 bolts that hold the PAS pipe (runs above the RH cover) into place - undo these & you'll gain extra bit of room to lift out the rocker cover

I did mine myself, I brought a genuine rocker gasket bolt seals and 2 half moons
I undid the bottom drivers side engine mount then jacked that side up gives you lots more room!
I also removed from on top the intake pipe and filter also the header tank.
Once removed I cleaned everything left it over night and did it all again the day after, I then got some "grey" import sealant heat resistant upto 650c i put a bead around the half moons and pushed them in first, then I pressed the gasket into the rocker cover and applied a bead of sealant all around the gasket.
Just be very carful when putting it back on, touch wood mine has not leaked since after a garage did it twice!
