Question Advice on 2002 WRX

Right, I have not had my car long, and I have a few questions.

I have reciepts from TSL with it that had a full decat and Ecutek remap. Looking in the engine bay while checking something else, I noticed it had a dawes device.....

My question is, why does it need this, as the Ecutek should be mapped to avoid using this, or am I wrong? If this is the case, should I remove it?

The car is peaking at 0.9 bar, so not as high as I would have thought with a Ecutek.

Cheers

I think the boost is staying at 0.9 due to the Dawes device being set that way. I have the reciept for the TSL package, for 3k when it was about a year old. Full decat and Ecutek map, so can only assume it is.
Was thinking of removing the Dawes, and take it for a drive, as if not mapped it should cut on full boost.
