Hiya,

I have a V4 WRX, it was mapped back in april but when i had it done i had the standard intercooler on the car, i still have that on there now but am wondering as i believe they are a bit crap if i were to fit an STI intercooler would that have a bad effect and require a tweek or would the extra cooling just help the engine run better and at a safer temp?

If it will require another remap i will leave it for now.

i would say that i will require a slight tweak, saying that iv fitted a front mount on mine without the map yet and its ok, im sure theres no gain in power but it runs ok

 

Cheers for the reply mate, will probably leave it alone then, only wanted to do it to A. keep the engine air temp down and B. the sti intercooler looks a lot smarter than my tatty wrx one, might have to give it a coat of paint instead

 

From what I have read you would definitely need a tweak if going for the sti item.
