Is the above conversion easy? What parts are involved?
What year/model is the above intercooler from?
Thanks

sti 7/8/9 IC. you also need LH bracket. try to get IC with cast y piece and dump valve still fitted. I'm sure theres an old thread with detailed fitting instructions on here.

Is it one of the carbon STi braces?

If it is it won't fit. I had to get an aftermarket one (don't know the make) but it knocks a bit.

i have fitted a 2003 WRX one to my 95 classic, removing the old slanty one.

in a nut shell.....

i re-shaped the metal bracket attached to the bulkhead just above the clutch support rod as the intercooler hit this.

the inlet manifold where the silicone pipe from the i/c joins was trimmed by a few mm as again, the i/c hits the back of the bulkhead

obtaining the 2003 undertray to go under the bonnet scoop and adapting to fit

if you dont mind the knocking, no real adjustments need to be done, but i hated the thud on acceleration/gear changes.

Mine drives me mad!!

I'll whip it off and trim a bit off the outlet to the intercooler one of the days.

yup,it is annoying !

it sounds worse than it is, but by making the bit of metal above the gearbox support rod narrower this allows the y pipe under the intercooler to fit better and by trimming the throttle body it allows the i/c to be closer to the engine/more away from the bulkhead
