Plenty of patience with rusted nuts and 6 sided sockets needed. Also only use genuine gaskets from ICP or similar. Oh and dont start the job without some spare studs and nuts, again available from ICP or similar.

I have read that you want to warm the exhaust up to get the nuts off easier, but not too warm. Basically spray with WD40 the night before, then warm up, nip the nuts and bolts to they are loose, and then leave to cool and then do when cold.

Whether that will work I don`t know, but that was the common consensus from the threads I read.

Had mine done 2 weeks ago & done my mates 4 days a go,no need for wd40 imho,as heat will loosen the bolts up and should not cause you to much grief.A good set of sockets and take your time and it should be ok.I have a brand new set of oe header gaskets if you want £10.00 posted. You only need to raise the engine slightly to get uppipe off with the oe headers.

Harvey did this about 18 months ago. I know the headers are held on by 3 nuts on either side.

Swapping uppipe.

Drop the D/P.
Undo the bolts, headers to uppipe.
Loosen but do not remove three nuts on each header to cylinder head.
Now undo the nuts holding the uppipe. 5# in total if they are all there.
Remove U/P.
If it will not come loosen the two bolts, collector to the rest of headers/cross pipe and it will fly out.
Alternative : Least preferred option.
If it will not come out with lots of twisting, slack engine mountings. Do not totally undo. Jack engine and pipe drops out.
Try to get pipe out first before undoing mountings for engine.
