Default Ring land failure mapping question

Afternoon all,

Could someone please tell me if the 330S hatch suffers from ring land failure? or is the original 330s map sufficiently different to prevent detonation?

Cheers

i think the 330s has a better map, but make sure its run on 99 ron fuel.
the engine will break though its a 2.5, be it ringland or head gasket.

I will go with that, as Rob stated, i have rebuilt more failed 330's engines with failed ring lands than normal STI Hatches.

if that is correct, and i am not doubting it, surely the problem has to be more than just an ignition map!!

It's a combination of factors, and the sum of its parts.
Forged pistons, remap, problem gone.

Remapped 2 330s last month, both overboosting and hitting boost cut on the original 330s maps.
