Default dump valve or induction kit?

first post on here so here goes, ive got a 2004 wrx sti,
was gonna put a dump valve on it, but not sure now weather to put an induction kit on it instead?
just some thaughts of peoples experiences with either of um would be a help,
i like the sound dump valves make, but would an induction kit sound better?

its my first scooby so im not an expert on these cars, im just having a mid life crisis at 37yrs old and had to buy one, no regrets at all yet.......

If you put an induction kit on you WILL need a remap. Stick with the panel filter, the Ecu should ne able to adjust the fueling enough for this. Uprated panel filters will be good up to 400bhp.

Also, I don't think anyone on here would recommend a vent to air dump valve. The standard recirculating dump valve is very Good. The dump valve position in the subaru system means a vent to air will screw up your mixture, could lead to bore wash and engine damage. Stick with the standard one. But if you want a noisy vent to air then personally I would get the car mapped with it on to correct the fueling problems.

P.s. I have an hks ssqv mapped on my car. Love it personally!

Will be louder if you fit that but will also throw the check engine light on and require a remap after fitting unfortunately!

Will make exhaust flow much better if you fit a decat and will have to adjust fuel and air in to compensate for more exhaust out. Simples!

Remap definitely recommended.
