Default Flexi joint blowing

I've got a 3" turbo back exhaust and my classic at the mo. I've got a newage afterburner vortex backbox I want to get fitted which won't be a problem. However the centre section has a flexi joint and it's started blowing. I really don't want to change the whole exhaust again and I don't know what centre section would fit the downpipe as the downpipe I have is longer than a normal one. Is there anything I can do to stop it blowing for now??

Find your local powerflow dealer and get them to weld you in a new flexi-joint, shouldn't cost too much

Ok thanks bud I have one down the road so should be ok. Does it have to be another flexi joint or could I just have a pipe welded in?

If you still have a cone gasket and spring bolts at the base of the downpipe you could get a straight pipe welded in, if not you need to consider that there is no other flex in the system - that said I've not had any problems with my last couple of systems that were rigid all the way through

A powerflow dealer should be able to weld you a section in ,as they did on my 99 car when i had the centre resonator removed, and a straight section welded in its place.
Flexi joints in an exhaust system will always be the 1st place to leak whether it be on the downpipe or on the headers and is a problem related to all cars where a flexi joint is used in a exhaust system not just subarus.
