Hi chaps! Well my 2002 sti uk type prodrive scooby started to make a knocking noise from the left hand side of the engine bay under the coolant tank!!! I think its the small or big end. I need help with what engines i should look for (what engines will go straight in) are all the EJ20 engines the same??? Can i just buy only ej20 block and put my stuff on it??? Please any help would be appreciated

First what are your plans? Are you going to modify or just repair and run setup engine is currently.

If your engine is the original for the chassis then you have rear thrust crank setup with 6bolt bell housing, you have many options as to which block you can run however your going to need to fully diagnose fault (unless your diagnosis is correct already). Can do 2.1 setup into your block for a very competitive rate.

I have over 11 years Subaru experience (ex wrc prodrive engine technician) currently we build engines for Subaru traders/modifiers/rally/time attack.
