My MY00 UK Turbo came with a HKS Hi-Power turboback - is there a removable resonator/silencer in the center pipe on these? I'm looking to get rid of every restriction I can think of before it gets mapped. I don't mind it being a bit louder as it's not the loudest system to begin with.

 

sell it and get a rcm team ice system if you are after free flowing and dont mind loud

I'm happy with the sound of the Hi-Power tbh, just wondering if there's a tiny bit more flow to come out of it.

Just Youtube'd the RCM and it sounds immense though.

 

I have that system and took the resonator out of the mid section, I wish I hadn't, it's way too loud now, even my friendly mot tester had a whinge about it being too loud, sounds lovely on tickover but does your head in after about 10 minutes of driving, it's just a constant drone inside the car.

 

Which one have you got as i know that the Silent Hi-Power does have a resonator in it.

 

I've got the regular Hi-Power.

Are we talking Blitz Nur Spec R loud with the resonator removed?

 

Mine is just a normal hi-power system, has a crappy mild steel centre section with resonator/silencer, I would be happy with a nur spec, would seem rather quiet compared to what I'm suffering now , was one of them bright ideas that turned into regret, I really wasn't expecting it to make that much difference , everybody who hears it says it sounds nice but they don't have to drive it every day
