Default Rear adjustable track rods for a classic.

Did the JDM STIs all come with the different type adjustable tracking with rose ball joints, not the annoying big bolt one with bushes.

Does anyone know where to get these new or is there a aftermarket version?

Thanks

Found this one too on the same site:

Wonder what the 2 adjustable longitude arms adjust, must be to get the wheels side by side, pretty pointless i think.

By bearings do they mean rose ball joints?

Thanks

I believe the longitude arms can be used to set caster.
Rose joints are referred to as bearings in this case, they enable the arms themselves to move up and down, while the bolt through them (for mounting them to the subframe) is tightened.

I bought this. Looks more robust than the k-sport and Hardrace. Cost a bit more though.

If you look on my picture and the gtspec picture of the lateral arms. They have changed the design to make them fit the models with c-shaped endlinks and the ones with ball-joint endliks.

So besides from the control arms on the front you can nearly rose ball joint the whole car. Wonder if you can buy rose ball joints for the front control arms?

Thanks

@ Sam, rose jointed front suspension is available from (for example) MSI in the US, but they are expensive,

Making your own is a possibility, but will require (extensive) (expensive) work.

At the very least you'll have to cut off the stock front pick up point on the stock lower arms (with the purple bushes in the picture below, and fabricate a threaded bushing in it's place, where the front rose joint will be threaded into.
The rear point could be a bit more easy, as that can just be unbolted (on a alloy arm,
on a steel arm it's part of the actual arm, so welding would be necessary)

On the alloy arm the stock connection part could be put on a lathe, and it's diameter turned down so a rose joint can be slid over.
Then a bushing should be made to fill up the void left by the smaller rose joint.
Also, the connection of the rear arm to the subframe would have to be remade.

All in all a lot of work, for only theoretical gains IMHO.
There are many more things that can be done to aid handeling/having less flex in the suspension which have more effect.

(The normal rubber bushes are 30-50mm wideish, as the rose joints are 20mm thick at most you'll need rings/bushes made to fill up the extra space)
