Default 2.5 Engine with Spec C heads

Hi there,

Wanting to fit a 2.5 closed deck block into a P1. Ive saw an advert for a 2.5 CDB on Litchfields website but don't recall seeing a price. How much are they and are they as strong as a 2.0l CDB?

Also wanting to fit a set of 2006 Hawkeye Spec C 2.0l heads if i can find a set, are these a direct fit or what machine work needs done. What head studs need fitting? Would i just need to fit a newage inlet manifold and parallel fuel lines?

Wanting the car to be very torquey, what advantage would i get from fitting High compression pistons? Whats the benifits from high/low comp pistons?

Thanks for any advice.

What is your overall BHP target? If you want to run under 500bhp a Semi CDB is fine, Hawkeye heads don't have a cam position sensor so I'm not sure how you would get around this, probably better to run pre Hawkeye heads?
You can use your current inlet manifold as the stud pattern is the same.
Your BHP taret will dictate the head studs required, a semi CDB 2.5 with Arp 11MM studs is fine below 500bhp, after that a CDB with 14mm is the better option.
If you want a good spooling setup then I would go for around 8.7:1 Compression, if you wanted to run some methanol then you can go higher again.
At the end of the day its all down to budget, what fuel you use, turbo choice etc etc.
Hope that helps
Andy
