Hi people, just wondering if any of you tech's can help
my mates GTI-R clutch pedal is not operating the clutch arm fully, i have tried bleeding the system and am quite satisfied that i have released any air. The pedal only has pressure on the last 1/3 of its travel and is making a loud clicking noise from the clutch master cylinder...????
I wouldnt normally ask for advice on a GTI-R but i enjoy kicking his **** all the time and its boring without him, plus i want him to come to saafend with us on sat
thanks people
Rob

Take it off and have a look to see if anything has snapped... has it leaked any fluid... if not just replace it.

Cheers for the reply dave, there is a cap on the top of the master cylinder which has been leaking, a replacement is on its way as we speak... this feeds fluid to the top of the cylinder. My way of thinking is that all though there is a slight leak from this it is not under any pressure and only supplies the fluid in the top of the m/c so it shouldnt cause a big prob??
any other ideas or maybe my way of thinking is wrong??
i'm not sure about the clicking, it has only started since the m/c has been playin up???
Cheers mate

take it off the car as behind it where the padal meets may have bent / snapped.. would just replace it to be honest... I could understand if there was a major leak... but otherwise...

Rob, have you checked where the pedal is bolted to the fire wall???? It's a known weak spot on the GTi-Rs for that to crack. My friends did this about 4 or so years ago (UK model not jap import) and eventually the pedal just completely went to the floor. It took Nissan weeks of pissing about before they fixed it, think an additional plate was welded in to strengthen it.
Hope that helps (probably completely wrong tho knowing me ).
Tony.
