Alright guys,

I recently bought a used WRX inlet manifold to have powdercoated. I noticed today that a small fitting has previously been damaged and needs replaced. I removed the fitting and its not threaded. Does anyone know what this fitting is for and are they easy to replace, i presume they are just pressed in with a small amount of lub

can you describe the item taken out, was it an open pipe or some sort of vacuum take-off , or a sensor in a metal case?? maybe a port to go to an aftermarket boost gauge??

as above looks like a vacuum take off, wouldnt know how you fit one, can you get the bit out thats in there, i would just block it off with a self tapper with a blob of sealant or tap it and used a proper bolt. there are plenty of other vaccums to use, you would have to use a t piece on one of the other pipes that`s all

edit if it as actually pulled out i would use loctite or sealant to wedge it back in

I pulled it out in one piece when i noticed it was damaged, i think i will give my local dealer a call and see if they can supply one.

Get a bit of liquid metal on it, that will sort it.

i've used that before but i think i will use a bit of loctite blue to hold it in place, hope its a easy part to get hold of though as i have the manifold booked in for powder coating tomorrow
