Default Help fitting cat back system

Hi guys, recently bought a cobra cat back system for my sport (bug)...went to have it fitted yesterday and been told by our local mechanic that the connection on my cat pipe that the cat back system bolts/fits to is corroded, and i will need to buy a new cat pipe in order to fit my cat back system...

..is he correct? if i took it to an exhaust specialist would they not just cut the connection and weld a new one on?

Any help would/pointers would be great..

Cheers

yeah, just the end where the two sections connect, the actual pipe is fine.

HI,

Another option would be to have someone weld another flange on the end?

Or

De-cat section = £139

Sports cat section = £295

Thanks

Pete

No, unless it's a tester that's willing to use a different car to do your emissions
