I fitted a 02 6 speed to my 97 v3 sti, i used the cradle that came with the 6 speed, i managed to keep the 5 speed front shafts but used the 6 speed gear linkage, prop shaft, rear diff, rear shafts and the hubs. Some folk on here found a classic rear diff to match with the 6 speed box and keep the original rear shafts and hubs, i found when using the 6 speed hubs they have a 190mm handbrake drum meaning my expensive ksport rear kit with 170mm handbrake drum wouldnt fit so had to buy another kit for the 02 hubs

A TypeR STI will only need a UK six speed box linkage, prop and cradle to make it work as they run a R180 3.54 diff. If the gearbox is JDM you will need the matching rear 3.9 R180 diff.
If however yours is a V limited you will need rear hubs, diff and rear shafts as well.

Scubbay i thought you needed to fit the UK rear Diff aswell??

Newer hawkeye boxes will need front stub adapters for the drives aswell
