Default Standalone ECUs and Phase 1 & 2 Looms

Are standalone ECUs a direct fitment to the existing loom into the OEM ECU?

Are the phase 1 & 2 engine looms different?

Could you take a CDB drop it into a Turbo 2000 and just connect it up without changing the existing loom?

Thanks

Most of the after market stand alone ecus drop into the OEM case and plug straight into the loom.

The second of your questions is a little more confusing, why would you want to ?

I'm trying to work out what's required loom wise when fitting a CDB complete engine, if i was to source a CDB engine you would use the loom also, but seeing as it's going into a Turbo 2000, the electronics such as the dash cluster are different.

Alternatively, can you use just the CDB as a replacement for the ODB and use the existing head... Or are the heads and all different?

Thanks

you can use whatever short engine you wish but your heads need to matt up to your inlet manifold, then there is no need to change any electronics or loom

A CDB internals arent anything special. Only reason people use is for strength of block itself with a forged build.

So why aim to drop a standard CDB and internals into your car?

No specific reason, just curious about compatibility and how people go about their builds.

Thanks
