Default PCD convertors 5x100 to 5x114

Just bought a set of 19" alloys for ma beloved , 5x114 so i bought a set of 5x100 to 5 x 114 converters , putting them on the car this morning and after tightening up the converters to the wheel ...all gravy ....went to put the alloy on tightened it up and SNAPPED the converters in all 5 bolt holes ??? seemed it didnt sit flush enough. I guess imasking when you fit these do you have to have the original hub bolts shortened as it seemed that when i put my wheels to the converters they were not sitting flush up against them ??

Anyone had experience with these or could advise id be well chuffed to hear !

Personally, I would need to be seriously convinced that any hub converter was properly designed and engineered before using and then I probably wouldn't!

When you consider the loads being put through them I don't think the risk is worth it.
