i just found out the problem with my car is the 1st gear so need a replacement gearbox for my impreza turbo 2000 uk p 97, i wanted to know does any classic gearbox fit and work or does it have to be the exact same one with same code?

When you get the code you can work out the rear diff ratio from here http://www.gearhack.com/myink/ViewPa...ission%20Chart

You can use any box you like though as long as you have the matching rear diff
