Default knock sensor?

engine light came on today after driving for 10 mins error code 22 knock sensor so i changed it light was off then 10 mins later was on again anyone had this problem before?

yep.replaced mine with an original from import car parts and 10 minutes later back on.all i did was tighten up more than the specified torque setting and been spot on since.

Yes there was a thread about it a couple of weeks ago, same thing.

When you fitted the new one did you torque it, needs to be 26nm if my memory serves me right, if you just cranked it up as tight as you could then it's possible you broke it, also check the connector and wires.

Also make sure both faces are nice and clean using fine sand paper or wire wool.

ahh the inside of my caseing did look corroded will give it a sand

I was going to say to clean it because i had the same issue about 3 weeks ago, changed the knock sensor and the light came back again after about 10-15 miles, cleaned it and its spot on.

Cleaned ot up but still the same problem

mine did this after fitting so tightened it up a bit more and been spot on since.

Did you clean the block where you fit the knock sensor? it is a dificult place to clean.
