revs dropping in 4th gear
hi scooby net,
i have recently brought a 02 bugeye wrx it has has a ecu remap and a decat exhaust fitted. within two months i had had to take it ti awsome imports (local scooby guys in bristol) to have some work done. I recently have had the gear box and clutch replaced. the problrm is that when i floor it in all the gears it is fine up to 4th which when it gets to around 4000 rev it drops off. this doesnt happen in any other gear and is fine when im driving it like miss daisy. im going to take it back to awsome tomorrow but thought i would try and find out any info before hand. also on another note my milage counter only shows just over 6k on the clock can you think of any reason it says this?? no overly worried as the car is in pretty good nick for the year just be handy to know.
many thanks!!

If your clutch was slipping the revs would rise not drop. Are you sure the revs are dropping and it's not just a loss in power? I would have thought it's more likely to be fuel cutting due to overboosting or your boost solenoid needs looking at.
After the drop does it carry on accelerating past 4k?
