Default Oil cooler question...

I`m fitting a Front mount intercooler and Oil cooler at the moment, Just wondering do people leave the modine oil cooler in place as well as the new front mount or remove it?

Can do either - risk of removing the modine is the oil takes a long time to warm up,advantage is more room!

Plus make sure you have a thermostatic take off plate so the oil can get up to temp!

I've kept the modine, and have a thermostatic plate. Still takes ages to warm up the oil!

I removed mine but also fitted a thermo plate, I have noticed no difference in warm up time.

Mine takes ages to warm up without my oil cooler fitted. Dread to think how long once its on.

with the oil cooler and thermo plate, it takes longer to warm up than with out a aftermarket oil cooler, as oil still passes through it a little.

at this time of year, i take up my oil cooler as you might find it struggles to get up to temp or takes a v long time

mmm, Doesn`t seem to make too much difference then. I`ll see how much is involved in removing it and go from there. I have the thermostatic plate, and the car doesn`t tend to run much through winter so warm up isn`t much of an issue.

Thanks guys!
