Default brakes advice.

hey lads, just a quick one, on way home from work and some idiot pulls out right in front of me. i stomp on the anchors with all my might and just manage to avoid hitting the tw*t. now ive got a very loud banging or clunking noise coming from the rear of the car when braking. any guesses whats happened? when your braking you can feel the pedal juddering up and down like the pads might be loose or something? im on standard brakes on my96 wagon. i know they are cack and have 4 pots to go on anyway but need them looked at asap now this has happened.

you need to strip brakes down and check discs for pitting or corrosion , check the pads are not siezed in the calipers and also check the caliper slides are nice and free
