Subaru Service???
Hello.
I have had my Subaru serviced by a Subaru dealer a few times at the interval's required, my99, now I have done some research & have a bit more knowledge I have found out the oil they use is Shell Helix 10/40w semi-synthetic, I double vhecked & was told this was correct, I thought turbo's should be fully synthetic
Appreciate your input

I think the Helix semi IS the Subaru recommended oil for your car.
Oilman (Opie Oils) would indeed recommend a 10W-40 for your model. Or a 10W-50 if you live in the high part of the rev band on a regular basis.
Best oils are full Ester synthetics like Fuchs Titan Pro S or Millers CFS. But there are other cheaper alternatives, as well.

No, shell helix 10w40 semi synthetic is correct for that vehicle, most semi synthetics are more than capable to run in turbocharged cars, only mineral oils are not recommended, fully synthetics will not break down as quickly as semi synthetic oils but at the service intervals these cas have, it doesnt really matter unless you track the car all the time (plus with the ammount of wear on an older engine, there is no real point changing from a semi synthetic, though people still do, wear is already going to be in there which is one of the main factors to going fully synthetic).
