just a quick one. At what power should I be thinking about changing my brake setup from standard wrx ?

I put a set of brembos on the front of my hawk wrx with carbotech pads - stop like a different car.....

the standard wrx caliper is a 4 pot caliper. it is by no means the worst. change the pads. try http://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk

Brakes are fine @ the mo but hopefully will be running around 280-300bhp soon. Didn't know if the standards will be up to it

good discs and pads will be fine to 300-350ish if they're the 4 pot

I've just changed my wrx after a remap; discs changed to grooved discs, the pads to the kevlar pads (kept the calipers as they're really not that bad) and the difference is massive for a very small outlay. The standard pads are simply awful IMO, so I'd say give this a try first before changing everything.

Drilled and grooved discs with a DS2500 pad and you will notice a difference

Godspeed definately recommended as one of the cheapest places to get the above

drilled discs are prone to cracking grooved only or even plain with good pads will still be fine for that power level

If you plan to track it then avoid drilled discs, in my experience:
