Default engine build advice needed

hi folks.i am in the process of turning my classic wrx into a track day car as mrs wont let me have a big bike again...
have got most bits sorted but looking at rebuilding engine to make stronger.
it has a closed deck block and has only done 52km before import and 27k since so hardly any miles.i have heard that some of the early wrx's had forged internals.is this true or not?
looking to have a reliable 320-340bhp and decent torque.
cheers

I believe you engine is more than capable taking 320-340bhp with supporting mods.

......you might brake gear box eventually with that kind of power.

The only cars with forged pistons are STI's, the rods are common on all classics and are crap. If you get a genuine 320+ and are tracking it I would be suprised if you don't loose a rod or crack a piston quite soon. I would strip it and put a set of rods and pistons in it while the crank and bores are ok, if it does go pop it gets expensive.

Contact WMS above. Andy's components are incredibly good, I will be using his rods in my own builds.
