ECU Trouble

Having a lot of trouble with my ecu lately.
Posted a msg on here a few days ago about my speedo not working. Someone suggested cleaning the fuses which worked...for 2 days. Now it's stopped working again!
Check engine light comes on (I think due to this) after 5 minutes of driving until i brake to about 5-10mph when it goes off again.
Then the idle control started playing up. When i stop after a short drive, the revs go right down to almost 0rpm then bounce up and down a few times til it settles.
Then on the way to work this morning went above 4,000rpm twice and both times it jerked as if the power was cutting out.
To top it all off, i get a parking ticket!!!
Anyone know what the problem could be. Got it booked in to a garage for tuesday, but would prefer to get it sorted myself.
