Default when getting bottom end

I got a sti bottom end for my 03wrx from API about 20 months ago, I was just wondering if it wound be standard practice to change the timing belt etc when this was getting down or if anyone has there number so I could phone and ask exactly what was done, PS I might add car is all good and am happy with work done but starting to realize I should have asked a few more questions at the time but was new to subarus when my engine died
