ive been thinking about the old gearbox problem in that a classic box cant take much and the best way foward is the 6 speeed.i know that from my old days of tuning fords that the diesel box was the best as it held more touqe and i doubt the new scoob derv box will fit a classic but here is my question..... do you think or know if the 2.5 hawk eye wrx or sti 5 speed box be a good upgrade?
after all the 2.5 has alot more touqe then the 2.0 and that is what kills alot of old ones

6 speed are the best but if your looking for a bit stronger box for your classic then look for a ty54 not a ty52.

I think the newage wrx box can be alterd to fit the classic and i think it`s good for 400 bhp i`m sure i read it on here

 

5 speed newage 754 box only reliable for 300/300,maybe 350 to be honest
the ty754vbaaa out of p1,sti5/6 ive read is good for a bit more though if you wanna stick with 5 speed.
