Headers (manifold) are on the sides of the engine block covered in a metal heat shield. Uppipe is from the headers to the turbo. Down pipe is from the turbo to underside of car all the way to the Back box. Actually all exhaust parts mentioned have metal heat shielding if still standard.

As mentioned headers are on either side of the engine. The passenger side header goes across the front of the engine and joins with the drivers side header. From there you've got the up-pipe to the turbo (called this as it goes up from the headers to the turbo) From the turbo you then have the down pipe (called this because, yes you've guessed it, it goes down from the turbo to the exhaust system. These usually incorporate the cat and the lambda sensor) From the down pipe you have the centre section which then joins to the back box.
