Default no remap adding new mods?

hi, in a few days hopefully! lol i will be addin a decat downpipe cntre section and straight through team ice style race pipe, a GFB dump valve and some heat wrap to the exhaust bits, i dont have the money atm to upgrade the ecu as my car is a my98 Turbo 2000, will i have any problems with the car after these mods or is it a hit and miss weather or not the car will run okay without a re-map untill i can afford the ecu and remap?

kind regards, Jamie.

ide suggest waiting untill you have enough for a remap too, decatting the downpipe may cause issues such as over boost especially if your going for the straight through idea and will probably thow the cel on, each to their own regaurding a DV but most will tell you to steer clear and stick with the standard one. i put one on my old classicand had nothing but trouble with it, poor idle, poor fuel consumption flat spots etc..

I was in the same position when I first picked up my Type R, personally I'd recommend holding on until you pick up a replacement ECU. We've recently had a customer call up, he's made some changes like this to his V3 STi, it's been fine for six months, now it's started throwing a CEL.

Is it a UK? I know they are not all the same, but I had an MY98 UK turbo htat was overboosting on the standard zorst in the cold. Got that sorted and fitted a full decat (H&S) without a map and that ran spot on until I got rid (probably still running ok as I kept the zorst for my STi)

I would wait till you can remap it imo. Forget dump valve. There will be hardly any power gain without the remap plus you will be wary of caning it.

i bought my 98 uk turbo with a fairly cheap looking induction kit,3"down pipe decated straight through centre section and baileys dv i think already fitted when i bought it,took it straight to zen performance for diagnostic and power run and was told running slightly rich but nothing to worry about, other than that running fine and he was surprised by that, not that clued up on these cars yet but that was my experience without a remap

most cars can get away with slight mods as long as not upping boost amnually.just get checked on rollers to make sure not running weak.these are set to run rich to be on the safe side anyway.

okay ill just add them and take it how it comes, i really want to go for the 2.1 stroker soon so if it goes bang its not the worst thing that could happen! Lol, how much roughly does it cost just to get a car rolling roaded?
