Default stalled waited 2 hours then ok ?

yesterday i was driving along at 30mph when the car just sputtered and stalled ( souned exactly the same as when an induction pipe come off ? ) checked all pipes all ok tried to restart car and the engine turned over but wouldnt run ? sounded like no power or no fuel it just tried and stalled again? then turned ignition on again and all u could hear was a clicking fairly fast ? like a solenoid ? or a fuel pump clicking like mad ? just woulndt start , so walked home and left car went back 2-3 hours later turned key and drove home !! fired 1st time ran fine no spluttering or stalling no noises ? any ideas guys ? obviously somethings wrong ? or going to die on me ? my car is a 99 , which i bought last october ,it has a rebuilt engine ,bigger turbo , warlbro fuel pump ,front mount intercooler ,monster k sport front discs , sports cat ,d2 coilovers (last week ) plus much more im got the car from scooby spares in fleetwood and use them for all its needs , any advice would be appreciated as i am not a mechanic in anyway !!! thnx dave

Crank sensor?? Had this happen on mine years ago, once hot wont restart, cooled down and it would be ok again until it got hot.
