Default scooby smoking

hi guys, i was wondering if anyone has any idea what would be causing my 1993 wrx import to pour out smoke when its warm, the smoke is grey and stinks of unburnt fuel, the engine has been rebuilt using all new competition headgaskets etc, i dont think its the engine but possibly the turbo or some sensors????? im a motorsport engineer but i am baffled by my scooby, my first impression was headgasket as i assume yours will be, but im exploring all other possibilities first lol, i would really appreciate anyone who could give me an idea what it could be.

Has the mee engine been mapped? The build may have changed the compression ratio in the engine. Certainly sounds like its to rich.
