Hi,

I recently picked up a 2001 Impreza WRX and thought it would be a sensible move to get the cambelt changed as I plan on keeping it for a while.

Can anyone recommend any garages in (or near to) Southampton? Just got a quote from Sparshatts Botley and they want £560. This might be the going rate down south but seemed a bit steep to me so hoping someone on here might know of a better option.

Any help would be much appreciated.

 

I live in Southampton as well, and use Triton Motorsport in Bournemouth for any servicing - they are Scooby specialists, and much better priced than Sparshatts:

im having mine fitted by a bloke i no £100 also fitting a radiator for me cam belt kit was £220 tho so £320 all in bargain

Or there is cadnam garage always got scoobys in there but can't vouch for their work

I'm based in So'ton & travelled up to Lens (Subaru4You) in Newbury and was a great service

Would have been approx £200 (can't remember if just +/-) for my Classic fully fitted etc, but I needed the tensioner as well which was a fair few ££.

£200 is about right for the belt supplied & fitted from a reputable garage, but bear in mind the tensioner as it won't be included in that price.

I'll give them a call too, thanks. I want to get all tensioners to be safe but sure they'd still charge less than Sparshatts.

 

Just wanted to update and say that Triton Motorsport did a great job. £310 inc cambelt change, tensioner and alternator belt. Would highly recommend.
