Default Oil leaking from what looks like a core plug?? VR6

I know this isn't the right forum, but I haven't joined any VW ones yet, as I'm only collecting the car this afternoon.

The previous owner has had an oil leak from what looks like a core plug, but as far as I know if a core plug leaks then coolant should come out of it.

I can't seem to copy the pics from the add, but here's the link with the pics of both the leak and his "repair".

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1506428326...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Now years ago, I repaired a cracked sump with something called chemical metal, (I was was young and skint.) would this work in here do you think?

Failing that does anyone have any idea of what has happened here?

Thanks in advance..

Your correct coolant would come from a core plug. Not oil

I managed to get a look at it today and it looks to be about 10mm round.

Get yourself to vw and order a new oil gallery plug, looks like a mini core plug for the oil gallery according to this link.

Part cost 71 pence. Just dropped it into the garage, he reckons an hours labour to fix it.

Happy days.
