Default MY03 JDM STI, fuel filter advice needed please!

Hi guys

Hoping you can help me out before I spend more money than required. I am doing some minor bits to the my car before getting it mapped and one of the things suggested was to upgrade the fuel filter to a Mocal one from Think Automotive (just round the corner from me). I went down there and asked for one knowing they are about £35 and quite small as shown in the link below:

However, the guy at Think said that the above is just a pre-filter and that I would need the following too (£75):

I am now confused as I was only told to get the £35 filter and a few of my friends who also have Scoobies only have this filter. Can you let me know your thoughts please?

Just to let you know, I also have a Walbro 255 which will be fitted soon. Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Thanks & regards

Shirag

Are you sure it wasn't fuel pump?
Either way I dont think you need either on a newage JDM sti simple remap.

Fuel filters are service items, so unless yours is due for change.... don't bother imo.

As regards to Fuel Pump.... the JDM Newage pump will cope with a lot, but considering the age of your car, prior to a remap, it maybe worth changing (if only for piece of mind).

Im pretty sure it wasnt a fuel pump, he said it was the main filter and the other was a pre-filter. If you dont think i need either, then thats some money saved for me, thanks.

I did change the filter with a OEM one a couple of months ago when I had it serviced. I have the walbro now anyway so for piece of mind, I will get it changed, thanks.
