Default Exhaust

I've currently got a 2003 sti ppp with standard pipework and a Prodrive back box.

Im looking at fitting one of these

http://www.haywardandscott.com/subar...d-backbox.html

Is it as simple as a straight swap over?

Thanks from a non mechanically minded person

2-bolts and a new gasket, and Bob's your aunty's husband

Worst bit will be either seized bolts or getting the old exhaust of the rubbers

If its just for the Angled style look, then I don't think its worth it. The Prodrive back box has about the same volume of burble from the H&S you're looking at. Also the Prodrive boxes are very well made.

For me, the Prodrive boxes make just enough noise and any more would be too anti social.

Sorry mate but that is not true, prodrive do not make a loud backbox, and the one the op is thinking of buying is a lot louder than a prodrive. I know as I had one on my 1st Scoob. The H &S backbox is exactly the same as there world famous AFTERBURNER VORTEX bar the flamed tip and the vortex baffle.
Also it is slightly better flowing than the prodrive backbox, due to the lack of bends in the pipework.
Also if the op does find it a tad to loud he can purchase a silencer bung to cut down cabin drone on long journeys which incidentally when it is used takes the noise levels down to slightly less than a std prodrive backbox .
Brilliantly made and an awesome sound imho - buy it you won't regret it.

Yes mate they are stainless and the quality is excellent imho
H & S make exhaust and not much else unlike prodrive who make a wide range of items, and there backbox is an upgrade to the STD item .
