Hi
I think I read somewhere maybe on here that when changing the coolant on new age cars you need to put an additive in first befor the coolant or did I dream it some thing to do with water softening I think and what coolant is best for new ages

You dont need the conditioner, Most good brands are suitable for our cars, I used shells coolant comes as 4 litres (blue). If your really worried about corrosion use battery water mixed with the coolant 7.7 litres in total.
When filling use the hose from the back of the header tank and pour in slowly via a funnel this way you wont get any air in the system, remember to have the rad cap off and header tank cap off when filling, once full run the engine with header cap off wait for all the bubbles to rise (heaters on hot) job done. re-check after short run and top up as necessary.
