Afternoon all,

My car is running a standard 2 port Boost soleniod which i want to clean, however it looks like this (nothing like the one in the how to guides)



Which port do i spray the carb cleaner into?

Anyone know this? Presume it's into the top hose and out of the bottom but do the hoses just pull off?

 

Is your car a classic or newage?

Yeah the hoses just pull off by hand.
I think on newages you'll need to run 2 wires from the pins on the boost controller to the battery to open the solenoid. You can then spray some carb cleaner through either hole.

 

Don't newages have to same green plugs under the dash that the classics have?

 

Yes they do have the green plugs but unlike the classics the boost solenoid does not pulse when in the test mode
