Question for the mapping experts
On a completely standard 06-07 2.5 WRX with no modifications, can the factory ECU be mapped to gain any additional bhp, increase the boost or adjust the torque curve etc. If so what kind of results are available?
Thanks

That sounds fantastic just what I was after, a 20-30 bhp increase and moving the max torque curve back a bit.
Couple of things:
1) After just doing the fuel and timing with the extra 22 bhp could you feel a difference on driving?
2) I note you stated that the standard boost pressure on the 2.5 WRX is 0.84 bar. I had a boost gauge connected the other day as it was feeling a little flat and mine was making 0.7-0.75 bar. Had it up at Richard Henrys and they said that 0.75 bar was standard.

No actually standard peak boost target is 0.813bar manifold pressure, although they don't always make that depending on ambient temp, gear, load etc etc.
I really can't remember thinking that the 22bhp added was a noticeable difference or not, but you could certainly feel it after the torque was increased significantly. To be honest on all the cars with TD04s there's plenty of torque to be expelled from the standard maps as they are regardless of mods and fuel and this is definitely a noticeable difference!

That would make sense as when I got the 0.75bar it was during the really warm weather a few weeks back. Now the temperatures are back down the car does feel a bit quicker again
