Default O2 Sensor

Hi, I have had to remove my o2 sensor which sits just after the turbo on my 1996 AWD 2000 Turbo. I have plugged the hole and zip tied the sensor to the oil still. The bolt shered off so waiting for my decat to arrive.
As I just got the car and havent drove a Subaru for over 4 years I am not sure what the fuel consumption is like now. Mine is drinking it so could this affect it and will it run rich or lean with the seonsor just in the engine bay.

Thanks
Mark
